Double competition weekend coming up.
After a short break from the FIS Ski Cross World Cup and X-Games in Aspen, Anna Holmlund is now ready for a double competition weekend at her home course. The World Cup moves to Idrefjäll, Sweden with double qualification runs on Friday and finals Saturday and Sunday.
-Of course it’s special to compete in Sweden. We travel the world all winter long and now we finally get to compete in our home country, says Anna Holmlund.
The Swedish Ski Cross team have geared up at a pre-camp in Fjätervålen, 30km from Idrefjäll and are now on site at the race venue. And they’re facing a pretty different course.
-It’s a tricky start with a big compression, you better stay far forward on your skis or you will fly out in the following jump. Then the course is pretty much just straight down, but with pretty big features and some air time. For sure a fun course and you need to hit the features perfect, or you will loose a lot of speed, continues Anna.
Anna is excite for a competition on her home course with more people than normal in the cheering squad.
-We have the team sponsors and my personal sponsors on site so that’s a lot of fun to have them here. And of course also my mom and dad, smiles Anna.
Coming in to this weekend of races, Anna is leading the overall FIS Ski Cross World Cup. And like always her focus is to win.
-I always want to win and do my best. This race is no difference and I’m super eager to get back into racing again.
